Duties:
- Follow lesson plans and instructions provided by the absent teacher
- Implement classroom management strategies to maintain a positive and productive learning environment
- Engage students in educational activities and facilitate their learning
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the needs of individual students
- Support students with special needs or disabilities as outlined in their individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, behavior, and academic progress
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure continuity of instruction
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with students, preferably in a preschool or childcare setting
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development and lesson planning
- Excellent classroom management skills
- Familiarity with special education practices and strategies for working with children with autism or other special needs
- Ability to establish rapport with students and create a positive learning environment
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in different classrooms and grade levels
