Excelraise, LLC is seeking an Microsoft Power BI Developer for our client in Columbia, SC.
***This is 75% Remote Work***
Scope of the project:
Microsoft Power BI developer to support data visualization and reporting needs within the agency
Daily duties / responsibilities:
- Data Modeling and Transformation: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Build and maintain data models within Power BI using DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and Power Query.
- Report Development: Design, develop, and publish interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI. Ensure reports are user-friendly and meet business requirements.
- Data Integration: Connect Power BI to various data sources, including databases, APIs, and flat files. Perform data cleansing and transformation to prepare data for analysis.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize dashboard performance and responsiveness. Implement best practices for data visualization and reporting.
Required skills:
- Proficient in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service for report creation and publishing.
- Experience embedding Power BI in custom applications
- Strong understanding of data modeling concepts and experience in building complex data models.
- Ability to write advanced DAX queries for calculations and data manipulation.
- Proficient in SQL for querying and extracting data from relational databases.
- Strong skills in creating engaging and effective visualizations that communicate data insights clearly.
- Experienced in power apps, power platform, and dynamics 365 apps
- Skilled with SharePoint, stream, and teams
Preferred skills:
- Familiarity with ETL (EXTRACT, TRANSFORM, and LOAD) tools such as AZURE DATA FACTORY OR SSIS.
- Understanding of azure services related to data analytics and reporting.
- Familiarity with business intelligence methodologies and best practices.
- Experience with .NET AND C#
- Understanding of programming languages like data manipulation and analysis.
- Experience with IBM SPSS
Required education:
- Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree computer science, information technology, data science, or a related field.
Certifications:
- Microsoft certified: Data Analyst Associate
- Microsoft certified: Azure Data Scientist Associate
- Microsoft certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
- Power BI certification (from recognized institutions)
