Job Duties
- Assist patients pre and post care by the D.C.
- Take vital signs of patients.
- Perform physical therapy modalities as directed by the D.C.
- Accurately and legibly document modalities performed and subjective patient comments on progress notes.
- Maintain cleanliness of exam and treatment rooms at all times.
- Monitor controls on physical therapy equipment.
- Launder towels, gowns, heat pack covers, etc. as required.
- Maintain inventory and order supplies.
- Assist in general office operations as needed including filing, prepping charts, answering phones, patient registration, posting charges, scanning, cleaning, etc.
- Travels to other locations as directed to maintain adequate coverage for quality patient care.
- Assist in maintaining office in neat, clean and orderly fashion.
- Perform other duties and assignments as directed and/or as necessary.
This position must cross train between the Patient Representative and Chiropractic Assistant roles in our Elkton, MD office. ***
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- State Certification or enrollment in an approved course of study to include 20 observation hours and 520 clinical hours of in-office training to become State Certified within one year of employment.
Additional Skills/Competencies
- Certification in CPR and/or First Aid. Must be maintained throughout employment.
- 1-year experience in office providing physical therapy and/or chiropractic care.
- Tact and skill in patient management.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively interact with doctors, patients, and co-workers.
Physical/Mental Requirements
Sitting, standing, walking, reaching above shoulder length, working with body bent over at waist, working in kneeling position, crawling, climbing stairs, climbing ladders, working with arms extended at shoulder length, lifting maximum of 20 lbs.
