Basic Summary of Position:
The Physical Therapist may treat patients only under the guidelines of the state practice act. The Physical Therapist may perform physical therapy procedures and related tasks within the guidelines of their training to include but not necessarily be limited to: performing examination, evaluation, assessment, treatment, re-evaluation, update, and discharge evaluations and continued reassessment of patients with various conditions and diagnosis. Perform all tasks associated with the above including documenting the medical record, superbill, and updating relevant parties in patient care, while managing your caseload and ensuring patient compliance with attendance and program levels. The physical therapist must ensure that all treatment guidelines are followed and provide supervision of physical therapist assistants and ancillary staff as allowed by governing laws/regulations to ensure optimal patient care. The physical therapist is responsible for reviewing the physician’s referral, perform various tests and measurements in order to evaluate the patient’s condition then design, document and carry-out the appropriate treatments which may include use of various treatment modalities, and manual, motor, strength, neuro, sensory, functional, cardio-respiratory, techniques; as well as instruct, motivate, and assist patient to perform various activities including ambulation, ADL, and use in assistive devices, orthotics & prosthetics. Orients, instructs, and directs work activities of assistants, aides, and students. May plan for further program development, carry-out in-services, lectures, presentations, research, and author various articles or other works. Individual may be responsible for participating in health fairs or other similar events as well as providing clinical affiliation training for student programs. Must maintain appropriate CEU’s for licensure and file all paperwork in a timely fashion for licensure renewal.

Minimum Requirements
- Graduated from an A.P.T.A. accredited physical therapy program (with a minimal of a Bachelor’s Degree) and be eligible for state board examination
- Individual must pass the licensing exam in order to continue practice beyond a temporary license
- Must maintain all requirements for state licensure.
Working Conditions
- Hours Required: As needed to complete the job responsibilities. Overtime to be approved by management
Physical/Mental Requirements
Sitting, standing, walking, reaching above shoulder length, working with body bent over at waist, working in kneeling position, climbing stairs, climbing ladders, working with arms extended at shoulder length, lifting maximum of 20 lbs.
