Dietary Aide

Position Purpose: Performs a variety of tasks usually not requiring cooking skills in the preparation, service, and clean up for meals served to patients and staff in the nursing center and other special events.

Qualifications:

• Ability to read and understand directions required.
• Not experience in Long Term Care needed, but preferred.
  
  
  

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists cook as directed by the food service
• Prepares and labels nourishments according to center
• Prepares and portions desserts, salads, and other non-entrée foods into dishes; pours
• Follow production sheets and pre-preparation sheets or guidelines when
• Sweeps and mops kitchen floors as Follows cleaning schedule.
• Takes trash to the
• Washes dishes and silverware according to dishwashing
• Maintains clean, neat, and orderly work
• Sets dining room tables for meals when
• Works on meal tray serving Sets-up before start of meal service. Breaks down area and cleans-up at end of serving line.
• Reads and follows tray tickets when serving
• Uses proper hand washing
• Stores food using correct packaging and
• Checks refrigerators and freezers for correct Notifies the food service director if there are problems.
• Cleans the equipment and work area after each
