Key Responsibilities:
- Referral Management: Oversee and respond to referrals via fax, email, AllSCRIPTS, and NAVIHEALTH within a 10-15 minute window, aiming for 90% efficiency.
- Operational Efficiency: Identify areas affecting admissions and collaborate with administration and corporate teams to develop systems for improvement.
- Census Management: Accurately complete and communicate AM/PM census reports and update data on relevant systems (Future Care PTS, Census Pro, EMR).
- Collaboration with Billing: Work with billing and Medicaid coordinators to ensure accurate financial documentation.
- Tour Coordination: Conduct facility tours and assist potential residents and their families with admission-related inquiries.
- Relationship Building: Maintain strong connections with local hospitals, physicians, and community organizations to ensure a steady flow of admissions.
- Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all admission packets are completed within 48 hours and assist in preparing financial verifications before admitting residents.
- Team Leadership: Support marketing efforts, attend outreach events, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to maximize admissions.
- Managed Care Coordination: Obtain authorizations for HMO patients, collaborate with the Utilization Review team, and ensure patients have appropriate payor sources during their stay.
- Communication: Participate in key meetings (e.g., morning report, utilization review), maintain clear communication with the interdisciplinary team, and strategize with the marketing team for census growth.
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- At least two years of experience in admissions, in a nursing home setting.
- Prior director-level experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care reimbursement processes.
- Proficiency with EMR software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Must be personable, tactful, and enthusiastic in dealing with residents, staff, and visitors.
- Familiarity with CMS guidelines and DOH regulations.
- Ability to support and coach the admissions and marketing team.
