Job Title: Spanish-Speaking Recreation Aide

Facility: Park Avenue Extended Care

Position Type: Part-Time (3 days/week - Mon, Wed, Fri)

Shift: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Salary: $16 per hour

Job Description:

Park Avenue Extended Care is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Spanish-Speaking Recreation Aide to join our team. As a key member of the Therapeutic Recreation Services Program, you will assist in the development and implementation of both group and individual activities, enhancing the quality of life for our residents.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development and implementation of group and individual activities.
• Help coordinate general and specific programs within the Therapeutic Recreation Services Program.
• Maintain adequate inventory levels of supplies and equipment for activities.
• Collaborate with residents and the Recreational Therapist to establish short- and long-term goals.
• Accompany residents on external trips and outings as assigned.
• Provide transport for residents to and from activities, as well as other areas within the facility.
• Actively participate in department meetings and in-service education sessions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Recreational Therapist.
• Ensure accurate documentation, including daily statistics and resident attendance sheets.
• Maintain professional certification through continuing education.
• Lead specialized recreational activities based on the needs and capabilities of residents.
• Prepare and operate necessary equipment for events and programs.
  
  
  

Requirements:

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Recreation Program in a long-term care facility.
• Must read, write, and speak both English and Spanish fluently.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Maintain optimal physical and emotional health.
• Ability to work well with others and interact effectively with residents.
