- RN Unit Manager Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist the DON and ADON to evaluate, and direct day-to-day functions of the Nursing Department in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the Facility
- Ensure that all nursing services personnel are following their respective job descriptions
- Review complaints and grievances made or filed by department personnel and ensure appropriate reports are made and sent directly to the Director of Nursing Services
- Utilize expertise in the leadership role as a manager of an assigned unit
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing in maintaining adequate nursing coverage to provide safe nursing care for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; effectively utilizes existing manpower limiting use of overtime and agency personnel
- Implement the process of progressive counseling and when necessary, recommends or initiates disciplinary action based on facility's and or nursing policies and procedures
- Provides professional guidance and supervision to both professional and nonprofessional unit staff
- Attend committee meetings as requested
- Assumes nursing responsibilities of facility for weekend and holiday coverage as requested
- Valid New Jersey RN
- At least 1 years experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility
