Armed Security Officer

Location: Sarasota, FL

Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour weekly overtime

Job Summary: Excelsior Defense is seeking highly professional and vigilant Armed Security Guards to provide security services for one our finical institutions located in Sarasota, FL. The Armed Security Officer (S.O) will be responsible for ensuring the safety of the branch's employees, members, and property by maintaining a strong visible presence, monitoring premises, and responding appropriately to incidents. This position requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to react swiftly in emergencies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide a high-visibility armed presence at the interior entrance of the Banks Branch.

• Perform regular foot patrols both inside and outside the building to monitor and deter suspicious activity.

• Greet and assist customers upon entry, ensuring a welcoming and secure environment.

• Maintain a stationary post at the entrance during peak business hours, particularly on Fridays and the 1st-3rd of each month to manage lines and crowd control.

• Conduct frequent security checks of the property, ensuring compliance with the banks safety policies.

• Escort employees and customers to their vehicles or other areas of the property upon request.

• Respond to disturbances or security threats with professionalism and alert law enforcement if necessary.

• Monitor surveillance systems and report any suspicious behavior or potential security risks.

• Write and submit detailed incident reports for any suspicious activities, disturbances, or security concerns.

• Follow all post orders and adhere to company policies and procedures.

Schedule:

• Monday - Thursday: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (8.5-hour shifts)

• Friday: 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM (9.5-hour shift)

• Total Weekly Hours: 43.5 hours per week

Qualifications:

• Must possess a valid Armed Security Guard license (Class D & Class G required).

• Minimum of 1 year experience in armed security, law enforcement, or military service.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Strong observational and conflict resolution skills.

• Ability to stand for extended periods and conduct frequent patrols.

• Must pass a background check and drug screening.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Professional appearance and demeanor.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs if required.
