What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Planner Mine position at Excelsior Mining, Inc.?
Gunnison Copper-formerly Excelsior Mining has an immediate employment opportunity for a Maintenance Planner at its operations at Johnson Camp Mine / Gunnison Project located in southeastern Arizona between the cities of Benson and Willcox.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience within the mining industry, fixed crushing and conveying, SX/EW and leaching equipment, producing maintenance reports, planning and scheduling shutdowns, developing maintenance improvement strategies, department budgeting, improving safety and training procedures
Responsibilities:
Assist in developing mine equipment maintenance programs and plans
Identify resources required such as parts, equipment, materials, special tools, work procedure, external resources and documents and ensure all resources are available or scheduled for planned work
Maximize the use of maintenance resources through the development of an effective maintenance plan
Understand the resources available from both on site and off site suppliers
Identify all safety, communication and permit requirements
Make certain that all equipment servicing is scheduled and performed in a timely manner
Manage the computerized work order and maintenance tracking system
Monitor the maintenance activity to compare actual progress to planned progress and modify plans to compensate for variations due to availability of resources, actual work completed or additional work required
Ensure all equipment servicing documents are completed and kept current
Advise and support the clerical staff with data entry, the work order system, issuing work orders and work order management
Participate in regular meetings between Maintenance and Operations to review daily and weekly maintenance plans
Ensure warrantable work is claimed in timely manner
Work with Vendors to make sure warranty issues are resolved
Participate in preparation of the Annual Mine Maintenance Budget and other equipment operating costs estimates
Provide forecasts and cost estimates for all tasks and projects
Monitor maintenance costs and identify variance to the budgeted cost plan
Assist in invoice reviews and payment approvals
Support Turnaround and Project activities within the mine maintenance group.
Help develop critical path plans and budget major maintenance shutdowns.
Assist in developing the plan identifying the required repair parts, materials, labor, tools, equipment, repair procedures, special and contract services.
Provide information for weekly and monthly reporting requirements
Monthly variance reports actual vs. budget
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Mine Maintenance Planning preferably with a focus on Crushing and Conveying, SX/EW and leaching.
Strong Computer skills with a working knowledge of computerized Mine Maintenance Planning software
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before a group of customers or employees or the organizations.
Proficient at Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Access and Project.)
This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” for purposes of the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act and the Arizona Drug Testing statutes **
