What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant - Home Health and Hospice Office (PT - Days) position at Excelsior Springs City Hospital?
- Utilizes computer systems/websites (NDoc, AxisCare, ELGH, EMOMED, PECOS, CGS, SHP) to assure accurate and timely collection of patient charges and to accurately distribute and collect reports, documents and relevant information involving department staff and other hospital departments.
- Utilizes NDoc to accurately distribute and monitor timely return of physician interim orders and 485’s/POC’s via fax, sfax, or mail.
- Demonstrates good ability to plan workload in such a way to distribute it equitably and meet deadlines.
- Utilizes NDoc to store and retrieve patient information and medical records.
- Answers the phone in a professional and friendly manner and follows through with needed action on calls in a timely manner.
- Keeps forms “original copy” manual current and easily Orders forms on a timely basis; maintains adequate supply on hand. Orders and maintains an adequate office and nursing supply inventory; oversees their utilization.
- Performs month-end, year-end, and other statistical reports accurately and in a timely manner.
- Accurate knowledge and use of medical terminology.
- Performs laptop updates and maintenance as needed.
- Performs insurance verifications.
- Submits OASIS files to CMS.
- Oversees the work environment and logs tickets to ESH IT/Maintenance accordingly.
- Assists in preparing for staff meetings - such as IDG, Department, Home Health, and Volunteer meetings.
- Assists the department director and staff with special projects as needed.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- 1 years of medical office experience preferred.
