What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Outpatient and School Based Services (FT - Days) position at Excelsior Springs City Hospital?
- Will have the task of meeting the speech therapy needs of ESH’s community which may include inpatient, outpatient, swing bed, and pediatric patients.
- Responsible for the care, safety, and wellbeing of patients during treatment sessions.
- Demonstrate the ability to evaluate and develop plans of care for patients establishing goals of treatment and plan for discharge; taking into consideration the patients’ needs and limitations.
- Consults with attending physician concerning the patient’s needs and limitations, goals, plan of care, progress, and discharge plans.
- Perform daily documentation of each patient’s progress and challenges.
- Maintains department records properly and completes them correctly.
- Provide patients and caregivers with educational material as appropriate.
- Perform monthly comprehensive summaries and weekly goal updates on each patient.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Speech Language Pathology license required.
- Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association or preapproved provider.
