What are the responsibilities and job description for the Respiratory Therapist (FT - Days) position at Excelsior Springs City Hospital?
- Performs routine respiratory procedures (Breathing treatments, Incentive Spirometry, O2 therapy, etc.)
- Performs acute respiratory procedures (ventilator management, airway management, Bipap, etc.)
- Draw and interpret arterial blood gas reports; make recommendations with consultation of physician.
- Understands and responds to Code Blue incidents.
- Performs diagnostic testing: EKG, Stress Test, Holter Monitor set-up, and Pulmonary Function Test
- Documents per Cardiopulmonary policies including all flow sheets and patient’s education sheet.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Respiratory Therapist Requirements:
- CRT Credentials, RRT preferred.
- MO license.
- Associate degree strongly preferred.
- Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) issued by the American Heart Association or preapproved provider.
