The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department (ED) is responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care services, within the scope of practice, under the supervision and direction of the Director. This position demands a professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, excels in critical thinking, and is committed to exceptional patient care in emergent situations. Our ED RNs plays a pivotal role is assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for patients of all ages presenting with a wide range of conditions. The RN must adhere to the hospital's policies and procedures, maintain accurate patient records, and ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and their families.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients presenting to the ED, identifying, and prioritizing care needs promptly.
- Initiate appropriate interventions and provide nursing care based on clinical judgments and standards of care.
- Administer medications, treatments, and perform procedures competently as ordered by the physician, adhering to hospital policies and protocols.
- Monitor patient responses to treatments and adjust nursing care plans as necessary.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families about conditions, treatment plans, and preventive measures.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient care, interventions, and evaluations in the patient's electronic medical record.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, nursing standards, and regulatory requirements to ensure a safe and effective care environment.
- Assist in the development and implementation of ED policies and procedures to improve patient care and workflow efficiency.
- Provide support and guidance to nursing assistants and other staff members.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
