Excelsior Family Medicine is an established integrated health clinic working in a cross-disciplinary model of primary care and behavioral health services. Excelsior Family Medicine is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant with strong administrative skills and interest to join our team. The ideal candidate will primarily be working with our behavioral health providers to manage referrals and scheduling, telehealth connectivity, perform basic vitals for patients, prescription management, authorizations, chart preps, and patient phone calls. Must be proficient with EHR systems, and have strong interpersonal skills. Responds to the needs of the job professionally.
How You Qualify:
- High School diploma or equivalent; college education in the healthcare field preferred.
- Must meet the requirements as defined in WAC 246-827-0200.
- Active licensure as a certified Medical Assistant Certified through the Washington State Department of Health or the ability to obtain licensure upon the date of hire; if license is pending, may hire with no more than 90 days’ grace period.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working for a healthcare practice or hospital. Lifespan experience is preferred.
- Ability to effectively work with and communicate with interdisciplinary teams, including behavioral health specialists, therapists, and other health care providers.
- Excellent organizational skills, communication skills; ability to process and analyze information effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make ethical and safe decisions.
- Ability to manage individual stress and perform essential job functions safely and professionally.
- Minimum 21 years of age.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
Core Responsibilities Include:

- Directly interfaces in the coordination of clinic referrals for behavioral health services, ensuring data collection, consent forms and treatment information are captured.
- Takes responsibility for daily schedules through attentive management techniques ensuring the schedule fill rate goals are met.
- Greets patients and interviews them according to appropriate workflows.
- Takes vital signs (pulse, blood pressure, height, weight, and other metrics as appropriate) .
- Accurately documents all data on designated forms and electronic records.
- Rooms patients for office visits with the provider; ensuring rooms are set up for applicable visits and technology is ready.
