The Operations Manager will be a member of the Program Management team in the Instructional Design and Development (IDD) unit at Excelsior University. Our team works closely with subject matter experts and other community and university stakeholders to develop transformative, engaging, high-quality learning experiences for our students. As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of projects within the unit.
This position is based out of the university's home office in Albany, NY with the option of considering remote candidates. Remote employees will have mandatory occasional travel for meetings, conferences, and professional development opportunities. Remote employees are expected to be available during work hours 8:30 am - 5:00 pm Eastern time. The University will supply necessary equipment to perform the essential functions of this job (e.g., Laptop, docking station). Employees are responsible for having a workspace where they can participate in virtual meetings without multiple interruptions and noise.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
- Oversee, facilitate, or conduct program or project management including analysis, planning, and implementation.
- Oversee project progress to ensure compliance with project budget, delivery schedule, and quality requirements in accordance with the University's program design guidelines and processes.
- Schedule meetings and touch points with project stakeholders throughout the duration of a project.
- Provide consistent, timely, and reliable communication between all project stakeholders including subject matter experts, industry experts, community partners, and design team the University to ensure projects are thoroughly documented and understood.
- Create long and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines.
- Prepares reports to update project status.
- Keeps track of progress and resolves issues as they arise, during all phases of projects.
- Assist other team members on the use of project management tools.
- Foster an environment conducive to team discussion and collaborative decision making.
- Develop and implement recovery plans as needed.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
- Ability to identify, assess and manage risk that could impact project timelines, resources and\or quality
- Create and maintain a project repository that supports continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Promote a collaborative environment where team members feel empowered to contribute ideas and address project challenges.

- Bachelor’s degree in business, or unrelated bachelor’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience as described in the job description.
- Minimum of one year of experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and successfully.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Suite.
- Extensive experience with project management tools, such as Monday.com and workfront.
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively manage projects that involve diverse individuals who may be local or at a distance.
- Strong relationship-building skills.
- Ability to independently manage multiple, complex projects with the highest degree of accuracy and efficiency.

The hiring salary range for this position is $62,000.00 - $70,000.00. The hiring salary range above represents the University's good faith estimate at the time of posting.
