Teacher assistant needed for the Fall!
Monday , Tue, Wed, 8:45 am-2:15 pm
Must love children and have experience working with special needs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support Special Needs Students:
- Assist special needs students with daily activities, providing individualized attention as needed.
- Help implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and support students in achieving their goals.
- Monitor and report student progress and behavior to the lead teacher.
- Assist with Classroom Activities:
- Provide support during instructional time by helping students with assignments and classroom tasks.
- Prepare and organize learning materials and classroom resources.
- Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
- Assist with Personal Care:
- Support students with personal hygiene, including bathroom breaks and diaper changing, following proper protocols.
- Ensure the dignity and privacy of students are maintained during personal care routines.
- Lunchtime Assistance:
- Supervise and assist students during lunchtime, ensuring they have a positive and safe eating experience.
- Help students with feeding, opening containers, and cleaning up after meals.
- Behavioral Support:
- Assist in managing classroom behavior by implementing positive behavior reinforcement techniques.
- Support students in developing social skills and appropriate classroom behaviors.
- Collaboration with Teachers:
- Work closely with teachers to support lesson plans, classroom management, and student activities.
- Communicate effectively with the teaching team about student needs and any concerns.
- Maintain a Safe Environment:
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines, especially during physical activities and when managing personal care tasks.
- Report any safety concerns or incidents to the lead teacher immediately.
- Other Duties as Assigned:
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
- Assist with other duties as requested by the lead teacher or school administration to support the overall functioning of the classroom and school.
