Self-Direction DSP - Baldwinsville Area (Job ES-KT)

Exceptional Family Resources is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work for a college educated woman in the Riverknoll Apartments in the Baldwinsville area She uses a wheelchair and requires total assistance with activities of daily life due to a physical disability. The individual is looking for a dedicated staff to assist her with maintaining her independence both at home and in the community. Some responsibilities include... assisting with Personal Care, light housekeeping, meal preparation, shopping and taking her to some medical appointments (as needed).

She is a HUGE Syracuse Orange fan who has a knack for creative writing, enjoys adult coloring books, watching sports and the food channel, surfing the internet, listening to the radio, researching new recipes to try and baking cupcakes. She has a indoor cat that lives with her.

She and her staff will provide new hires training on transfers via an electric sit-to-stand/track system. New hires must have a driver's license, as you will be driving her specialized modified minivan.

Hiring for many shifts with some flexibility: Everyday 8am to 4pm and 4pm to 10pm, applicants don't have to be available for all shifts

Evening shifts are a pretty quiet shift, plenty of down time as she goes to bed around 7pm... DSP can watch TV, read, bring computer etc...

Flexibility to fill-in for other staff is a MAJOR plus. Individual willing to consider different schedule/shifts for the right applicant. The current pay rate is $19.50 per hour.

All new hires must complete a five hour initial training. The pay rate for the initial training is $16.50/hour.
