What are the responsibilities and job description for the Self-Direction DSP - East Syracuse Area (Job #RC-JN) position at Exceptional Family Resources?
Exceptional Family Resources is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide Respite services to a young girl in the East Syracuse area. The individual is looking for a dedicated staff Monday through Friday after school from 2pm to 5pm. Responsibilities may include supporting the individual in the community as needed. Transportation to desired places where she has memberships.
We are looking for applicants who are reliable and caring. Prior experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities a plus, but not a requirement. Reliable vehicle and a driver's license are required.
Payrate: $21.00 per hour up to 15 hours per week. All new hires must complete a five-hour initial training course online; the payrate for the initial training is $16.50/hour
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. 2pm-5pm
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to work independently in the person's home and/or community.
- Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills
- No experience required but experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
- New York State Driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance is required; acceptable driving record required.
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community.
