What are the responsibilities and job description for the Self-Direction DSP - Oswego area (Job #CP-JM) position at Exceptional Family Resources?
Exceptional Family is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support an active young man with a developmental disability. In this role, you will help create and carry out a wellness plan that includes fitness and nutrition goals. You'll also accompany him to the gym, assist with meal planning and preparation, and provide transportation to special events like Comic-Con and train shows. Additionally, you'll teach and model important independent living skills, facilitate social experiences, and assist with navigating the community using public transportation. The ideal candidate will have a positive, energetic attitude, a passion for fitness and healthy living, strong communication skills, excellent record-keeping and organizational abilities, patience, and a love for spending time outdoors (e.g., walking, fishing, biking, scootering, golfing).
Related experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred but not required. Please respond with a resume or summary of experience.
Hours and days of work,
Monday & Wednesday 3pm - 7pm (end times can be flexible)
Saturday & Sundays flexible hours
Payrate: $25.00
Location: Oswego, NY
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assistance with independent living skills, support with health and safety and pursuing personal interests.
