Summary/Objective: The Personal Banker assists clients with problems or questions regarding their accounts; provides services to new and existing clients by promoting, selling and opening bank deposit services, such as checking or savings accounts, Certificates of Deposit (CD), Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA), safe deposit boxes, etc. This position requires thorough knowledge and familiarity of the various accounts, products offered by the bank and is responsible for day-to-day service and sales activities necessary to achieve an excellent level of customer service and satisfaction. Required hours are Monday - Friday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and two Saturdays per month from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.

- Responsible for performing all deposit duties including opening new accounts (consumer and business), CD/IRA and Safe Deposit Boxes.
- Provides prompt, efficient, and accurate service in response to requests, inquiries, or problems concerning retail products and services.
- Complies with all regulatory requirements and ensures that appropriate documentation is completed.
- Builds and maintains relationships with clients. Provides a superior level of service by identifying clients’ needs and recognizing and acting upon opportunities to promote products offered by the bank.
- Follows bank policies and procedures.
- Represents oneself and the bank in a positive, courteous, friendly, and professional manner.
- Cross-sells products and makes referrals to other Exchange Bank departments and locations as necessary to ensure the best products are available to fit customer needs.
- Attends training as required by Exchange Bank as well as support the overall compliance program by complying with all laws, policies and procedures.
- Performs other relevant duties as assigned.
Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. This position may require long periods of standing or sitting and may include long periods of typing and repetitive motion. Candidates must also have the ability to stoop, bend and squat in order to fulfill physical demands
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED.
- One to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient with all Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook, Excel etc.)
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Associate’s degree or bachelor's degree from four-year college or university.
- Jack Henry experience.
