We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented AML/Compliance Specialist to join our compliance department. The position will assist the AML Officer in overseeing the banks adherence to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti- money laundering regulations, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and internal policies. The AML/Compliance Specialist will also assist the compliance department with monitoring activity to evaluate the adherence to regulatory requirements.
The main duties of the AML/Compliance Specialist will be:
Assist the AML Officer in monitoring all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) programs.
Transaction Monitoring & Review, analyze customer transactions for suspicious activity and escalate potential issues for further investigation.
Assist the compliance department in monitoring programs that ensure bank compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and rules governing the banks deposit, lending, and product offerings.
Help develop, update, and enforce compliance policies, procedures and internal controls.
Assist the Compliance Officer in training bank employees on compliance requirements, including AML, fraud prevention and regulatory updates.
Maintain accurate compliance records and assist in preparing reports for regulatory agencies.
Position Requirements:
General knowledge of overall bank operations, Bank Secrecy Act
Knowledge of the AML, USA Patriot Act, OFAC, FinCEN guidance and all related Regulations, with knowledge of AML monitoring software being a plus
Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance related to lending and deposit compliance.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify discrepancies and assess risks.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for report writing and regulatory correspondence.
Must have the ability to work independently, take initiative, manage tasks with minimal supervision.
Minimum of five years of experience in a compliance, AML, or Risk management role within a financial institution.
