Senior Accountant at Stockyards Heritage

OVERVIEW 

Stockyards Heritage Development Co. is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic accounting team. This position will play a key role in managing financial operations, maintaining accurate accounting records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in accounting, financial reporting, and an understanding of tax regulations. The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Controller and will be instrumental in the execution of ensuring compliance, and timely delivery as well as process implementation and internal control adherence. The successful candidate will be a creative and innovative team player with ethical integrity and versatile adaptability. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional analytic skills, and a proven track record in real estate accounting.   

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Financial Reporting, Analysis, and Compliance 

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including bank and subledger reconciliations, and ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements. 

• Revenue and expenditure variance analysis and monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts. 

• Assist with processing of year-end 1099 statements. 

• Record and reconcile Fixed Asset transactions (acquisitions, capitalization, dispositions, transfers, and depreciation), Straight-line Rent, Percentage Rent, and Deferred Rent concessions and amortization. 

• Debt management including initiating payments and reconciling lender balances. 

• Assistance with the development of accounting procedures and ensuring compliance. 

• Cash management includes calculating cash needs at short- and long-term variables, positive pay, ACH, and wire initiation. 

• AP management including complex district and inter-company billbacks. 

Qualifications

DESIRED SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES 

• Ability to analyze, evaluate, and compile data into concise reports and presentations. 

• Solid understanding of GAAP and other regulatory requirements, and advanced-level knowledge of financial accounting principles. 

• Strong problem-solving, multitasking, and information analysis skills. 

• The ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. 

• Ability to prioritize and work well under pressure to meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. 

• Positive, highly adaptable, collaborative team player with an innovative mindset. 

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION :

• 3-5 years experience in a Senior Accountant position 

• 3-5 years experience in Yardi 

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
