Job Summary
As a Exchange Coordinator, you will play a vital role in creating life-changing experiences for high school exchange students. This flexible, part-time Independent Contractor position offers the opportunity to earn supplemental income while engaging in meaningful cultural exchange and global education. With the freedom to set your own schedule, this role also gives you the chance to earn trips nationally and internationally, expanding your horizons. You will manage the recruitment, training, and ongoing support of students and host families, fostering global understanding and making a lasting impact on young lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruitment & Orientation: Actively recruit host families, providing detailed information and preparing them for a rewarding exchange experience.
- Matchmaking: Help match up host families with students for an unforgettable and life-changing experience.
- Ongoing Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for students and host families, ensuring positive and successful experiences through regular check-ins and guidance.
- Training & Volunteer Management: Organize and conduct training for students and host families, ensuring they are well-prepared and supported throughout the exchange.
- Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with host families, schools, and community organizations to ensure a successful program.
- Program Monitoring: Monitor students’ progress, offering assistance and resolving any issues, while ensuring they are adjusting smoothly to their new environment.
- Event Coordination: Organize cultural events and activities to enrich the exchange experience and foster a sense of community among students, families, and volunteers.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of student progress and program outcomes, ensuring compliance with program standards and requirements.
Qualifications
- Age: Must be at least 25 years old.
- Independent Contractor Status: This is a 1099 Independent Contractor part-time position with commission-based compensation.
- Driver’s License & Transportation: Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- U.S. Residency: Must be a year-round U.S. resident with authorization to work in the U.S.
- Background Check: Willing to undergo a background check in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Experience & Skills
- Proven experience working with students, youth, or in a support or mentorship role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, families, schools, and volunteers.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to manage various responsibilities effectively.
- A passion for cultural exchange and education, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
