Exchange Coordinator – Shape Global Futures with a Rewarding, Flexible Role

Are you passionate about creating life-changing experiences and shaping the future of high school exchange students? As an Exchange Coordinator, you’ll play a vital role in fostering global understanding, empowering young people, and making a meaningful impact through cultural exchange. This dynamic, part-time Independent Contractor position offers you the flexibility to manage your own schedule while earning supplemental income and gaining international experience.

What You’ll Do:

  • Recruitment & Orientation: Engage with families within your community to introduce them to the enriching experience of hosting an exchange student. Provide detailed information and prepare them for a fulfilling, life-changing journey as a host.
  • Matchmaking for Success: Ensure students are placed with the right families by carefully matching host families and students based on personality, interests, and goals, helping to create unforgettable experiences.
  • Ongoing Support: Serve as the main point of contact for both students and host families, offering guidance and addressing concerns. Conduct regular check-ins to ensure both students and families are having a positive, successful experience.
  • Training & Empowerment: Lead training sessions for students and host families, equipping them with the tools, knowledge, and support they need to make the most of the exchange. Foster confidence and preparedness for a smooth cultural transition.
  • Relationship Building: Develop strong, ongoing relationships with host families, schools, and community organizations to ensure program success. Create a network of support to enrich the experience for all participants.
  • Program Monitoring & Support: Track students’ progress throughout the exchange, ensuring they are adjusting well to their new environment. Offer assistance to students and families when challenges arise and work to resolve any issues that may impact the experience.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain thorough records of student progress, feedback from families, and program outcomes to ensure all requirements and standards are met. This includes reporting program outcomes and ensuring compliance with organizational policies.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Location: Must live within 120 miles of Madison, IN.
  • Age: Must be at least 25 years old.
  • Independent Contractor: This is a 1099 position with commission-based compensation. There is no hourly pay or base pay.
  • Driver’s License & Reliable Transportation: Must have a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
  • U.S. Residency: Must be a year-round U.S. resident with authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Background Check: Must be willing to undergo a background check in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Emergency Housing: Willing to provide interim housing for a student if needed in an emergency.

Experience & Skills:

  • Experience with Youth or Mentorship: Proven experience working with students, youth, or in a mentorship/support role.
  • Strong Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to build positive relationships with students, families, schools, and community organizations.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and tasks with attention to detail and organization.
  • Passion for Education & Cultural Exchange: A genuine passion for global education and the ability to inspire and motivate others to embrace the experience.
