Hardscaping and Landscaping Laborer
Job Description
This role involves assisting in the installation and maintenance of both softscapes (plants, lawns, and gardens) and hardscapes (patios, walkways, retaining walls, and other structures). The ideal candidate will be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and performing physically demanding tasks.
Laborers may be required to work over weekends, on public holidays and at night.
Hardscaping Duties:
- Assist with the installation of patios, walkways, retaining walls, and other stone or brick structures.
- Prepare job sites by digging, leveling, and grading surfaces.
- Transport and position pavers, bricks, stones, and other materials.
- Mix and pour concrete for curbs, steps, and decorative elements.
- Use hand tools and power equipment, such as saws, compactors, and drills.
- Follow construction plans and measurements to ensure proper installation.
- Material handling
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Prior landscaping and/or hardscaping experience is a plus.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50–75 lbs).
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of tools and equipment, including shovels, rakes, saws, and compactors.
- Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license
Work Environment:
- Outdoor setting in varying weather conditions.
- Physically demanding tasks, including bending, kneeling, lifting, and standing for long periods.
- Exposure to dust, dirt, and construction materials.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
