Job Description:

Exco Extrusion Dies Inc. was established in 1997 following the foundation of Exco Technologies Limited in 1952. The Exco Extrusion Group has grown to include facilities in Canada, Texas, Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, Germany and Italy. The Exco Extrusion Group of manufacturing facilities are part of the largest producers of extrusion tooling globally. Our mission is to provide aluminum extrusion dies which will produce and assure long operating life. Our production capabilities exceed 4,500 dies a month, supporting extruders serving construction, automotive, and consumer goods markets.

Responsibilities

• Manage Cost effective and efficient production
• Work with Quality Supervisor to ensure product quality and investigate root cause of manufacturing quality issues as they occur.
• Identify process improvement opportunities through analysis of recurring issues.
• Recognize and manage any visual and/or dimensional defects that impact the function or customer acceptance of our products.
• Train employees to read and understand die making prints and related materials.
• Ensure the shop workforce are trained in all processes employed by the company.
• Participate in future planning of production system improvements to ensure our capability to meet the changing needs of the marketplace.
• Work with other managers to identify opportunities to improve operational effectiveness.
• Identify and recommend resources needed to meet our production goals, both through personnel requirements as well as capital equipment needs.
• Ensure ISO system is up to date, supported and followed.
• Participate in the development of annual budget and ensure budget parameters are met and analyzed.
• Manage workforce health and safety policies and ensure adherence to these policies.
• Be the driving force behind continuous improvement projects and lean initiatives.
• Ensure machinery and equipment are well maintained and schedules are in place for regular maintenance.
• Ensure the quality of our products are always consistent and up to standards.
• Maintain a consistently high level of on-time delivery, which is critical to the success of our business.
• Manage all issues relating to shop personnel, including attendance, performance and wage reviews, and interpersonal issues that may arise from time to time.

Required Qualifications

• General knowledge of the design of aluminum extrusion dies or similar tooling.
• General knowledge of an aluminum extrusion press or similar.
• Detailed knowledge of the various component parts in a die assembly.
• Detailed knowledge of manufacturing and engineering departments and how their operations produce various parts.
• Understanding of the ISO 9001:2015 procedures as they apply to all jobs.
• General knowledge of the aluminum extrusion industry and safety standards.

Required Skills

• General Computer skills – outlook, Microsoft office, ERP/MES systems, Timekeeping
• Communication skills - both verbal and written.
• Skilled in problem solving and process improvement.
• Background in CNC construction of perishable tooling.
• Basic Machine Maintenance skills
