- Lead new product development efforts, encompassing formulation, application, and testing of paints, coatings, and related surface treatments.
- Collaborate closely with customers and commercial teams to deeply understand diverse market needs.
- Coordinate with technical service teams to successfully launch and scale up new products.
- Engage external technology partners to commercialize innovative chemistries and technologies.
- Manage projects to fruition, delivering high-quality scientific outcomes in a dynamic environment.
- Effectively communicate findings through written reports, technical presentations, and project updates tailored to varied audiences.
- Conduct simulations of customer line conditions to troubleshoot issues and expedite product launches.
- Utilize root cause analysis tools to resolve manufacturing and field-related challenges.
- Provide technical support to production, optimizing product quality while minimizing costs and complexity.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies by engaging with suppliers and reviewing relevant literature.
- Develop technical documents such as test reports, product data sheets, and other literature.
- Extensive experience in coatings technologies, particularly in moisture cure systems.
- Background in industrial or military segment/technology formulations preferred.
- Previous engagement with external technology partners, including universities and government labs, is advantageous.
- Familiarity with MIL-SPEC and government approval processes for technology development is highly desirable.
- 10 years of experience in laboratory science, research, or new product development preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or related field required; advanced technical degree preferred.
