Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute transmission line design and engineering tasks, including structure and foundation design, material specification, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver full design packages, including drawings, bill of materials, construction specifications, and cost estimates.
- Apply working knowledge of industry standards including NESC, ASCE, ACI, IEEE.
- Utilize tools such as PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and MFAD to perform technical design functions.
- Oversee QA/QC processes, particularly for PE-licensed engineers; mentor and guide EITs through the PE licensing process.
- Monitor project schedules, deliverables, and budget adherence; success is measured by timely project delivery and quality of work.
- Serve as a technical liaison between clients and internal engineering teams, presenting solutions and maintaining client relationships.
- Support business development by contributing to proposals, project scoping, and estimating.
- Assist with site visits, construction support, and real-time issue resolution.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural, or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in transmission line engineering.
- Proficiency in design software including PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, MFAD, and industry-standard CAD tools.
- Strong understanding of transmission line components, design standards, sag and tension limits, foundation design, and system integration.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license with NCEES registration preferred.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and overseeing QA/QC for design deliverables.
- Experience with permitting support and construction phase services.
- Familiarity with CRM or project management tools such as Salesforce or ProjectWise.
