What You'll Be Doing
- Lead the overall success of projects by managing costs, quality, and timelines.
- Develop and negotiate change orders related to scope, materials, and schedule.
- Coordinate subcontractor activity, RFIs, purchase orders, and permits.
- Track and manage submittals, documentation, cash flow, and cost projections.
- Conduct weekly meetings with internal teams and external clients.
- Identify risks, anticipate challenges, and implement solutions to maintain profitability and client satisfaction.
- Use soft leadership skills to influence teams and navigate complex project dynamics.
- Stay informed on material market trends and adjust purchasing strategies as needed.
What you'll need:
- Strong planning expertise in heavy civil construction projects.
- Ability to understand and manage the full scope and sequencing of a project.
- Business-minded approach with solid understanding of profitability, budgeting, and accounting principles.
- High-level communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
- 3 years of experience as a Project Manager or similar role in construction.
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Experience using construction management software (e.g., ViewPoint, B2W).
- Relevant certifications such as LEED or Certified Construction Manager (CCM).
