Duties Description The Executive Chamber for Governor Kathy Hochul is seeking energetic and career motivated staff members for their briefing team in Buffalo, NY. The briefing team coordinates, edits, writes, and delivers all daily briefing materials for the Governor. Candidates should want to work in a fast-paced environment handling a variety of public policy matters and should be comfortable working within short deadlines.Duties: Under the direction of the Director of Briefing Operations, the incumbent performs the following duties: Communicates with the Governor’s Speech, Communications, Counsel, State Operations teams, and Senior Staff to source materials for inclusion in the Governor's daily briefing book.Drafts briefing documents for events using information from planning meetings, independent research, outreach to relevant colleagues including event and policy staff.Facilitates review of briefing materials with relevant colleagues to ensure proper formatting, grammar, and factual accuracy.Assembles, prints, and delivers the Governor's daily briefing book (depending on Governor’s location).Print/reprint and deliver briefing materials for the Governor throughout the day as needed.

The minimum qualifications required for this vacancy. Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree.Candidates must possess excellent research and oral and written communication skills, have a sharp eye for detail, and an ability to multitask and work in a highly fast-paced environment.Strong interest or prior knowledge of NYS government is highly desired.Evening and weekend work required seven days a week on a rotating basis with other Briefers.
