What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Engineer position at Executive Construction?

Responsibilities

  • Perform and document routine job site inspections
  • Manage and update the safety program and all its components while keeping current with industry standards
  • Manage safety supply inventory (PPE, First Aid Kits, Signage, etc.)
  • Develop site specific safety and health plans for higher risk projects as they become apparent
  • Execute project start-up kickoff meetings
  • Maintaining all safety-related recordkeeping
  • Have a complete knowledge of construction industry OSHA standards
  • Assist with incident response and claims reporting procedures
  • Development and delivery of safety training materials including toolbox talks, quarterly safety meetings and annual safety training
  • Develop and publish Safety Bulletins “Lessons Learned”
  • Support project Superintendents in both hazard recognition and hazard control
  • Attend both jobsite and management meetings, as required
  • Manage special projects and perform other duties as assigned by the Safety Director or the Director of Field Operations
  • Promote, maintain, and uphold the company’s Health and Safety Program



Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • OSHA 30 hour, OSHA 500 Authorized Trainer, or BCSP accredited certification is a plus
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local construction safety regulations
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, and Outlook.
