Executive Group is seeking an experienced Cabinet Builder/Woodworker to create and assemble products made of wood and related materials. This role involves assembling pre-cut and machined parts, such as casework and cabinets, using shop-generated drawings or instructions from the shop supervisor. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of woodworking tools, joinery techniques, and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate a variety of woodworking machinery, including table saws, miter saws, and hinge/boring machines.
- Read and interpret shop-generated drawings for cabinet and casework construction.
- Glue, fit, and assemble units using dowels, screws, clamps, or other fastening methods.
- Hand laminate or veneer panels as required.
- Install hardware such as hinges, catches, and drawer pulls using appropriate tools.
- Maintain accuracy and quality craftsmanship in all work.
- Work collaboratively with team members and accept direction from the shop supervisor.
- Inspect tools and equipment for wear and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Adhere to schedules and maintain productivity, reliability, and initiative.
- Follow all safety protocols, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of and adherence to millwork trade safety requirements.
- Proficiency in setting up and using woodworking tools and machinery.
- Ability to perform precision work with both hand and machine tools.
- Expertise in various joinery techniques common to the trade.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, sketches, and diagrams.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues, supervisors, and vendors.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations.
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Prolonged standing, bending, and working with tools in a workshop setting.
- Exposure to sawdust, adhesives, and woodworking equipment.
- Compliance with PPE requirements, including safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.
