Purpose of Position
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for delivery of both strategic and tactical HR support and programs to business leadership and team members through essential HR functions which include, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and project management. This position will also work with the leadership team in defining and enhancing the company culture and establishing and maintaining a high-performance culture and workplace. The HRBP is responsible for aligning the 20/20 Flight Plan with leadership and team members through the Team Member Experience and Talent Management programs. The HRBP collaborates cross functionally to deliver HR services and solutions in line with function or business unit strategy (Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Compensation, Benefits, Employee Relations, HRIS).
To help facilitate cross functionality and support of assigned business units, this position is an onsite position. The role is based in our Cincinnati corporate offices, conveneintly located at the Cincinnati Municipal Airport - Lunken Field.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Builds and maintains a thorough understanding of the business and business strategy; builds strong relationships with business leaders. Provides ongoing support/recommendations to assigned business leaders as needed/appropriate. Coach and develop Managers to become more effective.
- Partner with leaders on employee relations issues, including providing fact based, consistent recommendations for performance improvement plans, investigations, and terminations. Investigates problems, such as: working conditions, disciplinary actions, crew resource management, termination/severance recommendations.
- Provides guidance to managers on hiring, promotion, termination, disciplinary, and recommend actions. Interpret and answer policy and HR-related questions consistently.
- Works with the HR Leadership and Legal Department for federal, state, and local employment law compliance. Participates in EEOC, AIR 21, harassment, discrimination, ADA claims.
- Partner with leaders to oversee and provide recommendations and guidance on creating cultural commitment to employee engagement, development, and growth through talent development cycle. Assess and provide recommendations on overall talent management and training needs, inclusive of succession management.
- Act as a trusted advisor to both employees and leadership, ensuring that HR practices align with and support the 20/20 Flight Plan

- Knowledge and understanding of applicable HR/employment laws and regulations.
- Ability to identify/develop training content and conduct effective executive level training presentations.
