Overview
Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented and strategically minded Sr. Accountant to join our finance team. The Sr. Accountant responsibilities include assisting with financial planning, budgeting, the monthly closing processes, analyzing financial data and reports, developing preparing projections, and performing research and analysis as may be required by leadership.
Duties and Responsibilities
The essential job functions include, but are not limited to:
Partner with the Treasury Manager to reconcile bank transactions to the GL daily.
Responsible for the various closing processes (month-end, quarter-end, and year-end) including balance sheet reconciliations.
Prepare and upload assigned allocations and journal entries.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
Track KPIs and other benchmarks for Senior Management.
Perform research and analysis as required.
Work closely with the Controller on projects that arise.
Participate in researching and preparing technical accounting memos on complex accounting issues.
Analyze and uplevel current policies & procedures, suggest improvement opportunities.
Actively involved in our SOX compliance testing.
Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
Other duties as assigned
Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
Qualifications
The position requirements include, but are not limited to:
5 years of accounting experience with experience in financial planning and analysis.
Sound knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations
Experience with accounting software and databases.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Strong time management and organizational skills
Strong experience with Full-Cycle Accounting.
Efficient in PDI or other ERP systems.
Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills with advanced Excel skills required.
Point of Sale Transaction experience a plus.
Competencies
Analytical acumen and problem-solving skills. Ability to analyze data and generate insights, issues, and opportunities.
High attention to detail with proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
