What are the responsibilities and job description for the Systems Engineer III Satellite Ground Systems position at Executive Recruiting?
We are seeking a highly specialized Systems Engineer III with a robust background in Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) for satellite ground systems to support our Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) Ground Sustainment Services (LGSS) Program, specifically focused on sustaining and enhancing NOAA’s Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) Common Ground System (CGS). The JPSS CGS is critical in managing global environmental data from multiple polar-orbiting satellites supporting NOAA’s missions in weather forecasting, climate research, oceanic and space environmental monitoring.
Responsibilities :
Requirements Management & Verification :
Manage system requirements verification and validation activities, ensuring alignment with NOAA’s JPSS Program specifications.
- Utilize Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools ( DOORS, Cameo, Enterprise Architect ) for requirements tracing, verification, and validation.
System Integration and Testing :
Plan and execute detailed systems integration and end-to-end testing of ground systems.
Satellite Ground System Expertise :
Provide systems engineering support specific to NOAA or similar satellite ground systems.
Cloud and Automation Tools :
Leverage automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Git .
Technical Advisory :
Act as a technical advisor to the project team, coordinating between technical teams and stakeholders to ensure system integrity and compliance.
