The Managing Director, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Exit Strategies is a senior leadership role responsible for driving strategic initiatives related to mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and exit strategies for clients across diverse industries. The Partner will oversee the development and execution of M&A strategies, collaborating closely with client executive teams and leveraging the firm's technical expertise across multiple practice areas.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Oversee the development of client M&A strategies, including identifying acquisition targets, strategic partnerships, and divestiture opportunities.
- Collaborate with client executive teams to align on strategic objectives and growth initiatives.
- Provide guidance on industry research, market analysis, and competitor benchmarking to inform strategic recommendations.
Business Development & Client Advisory
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Private Equity, Family Office, and other strategic clients.
- Identify and pursue new opportunities to expand the firm's M&A practice and services.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing high-level guidance on complex M&A transactions and exit planning.
Transaction Execution Oversight
- Oversee deal flow and ensure smooth execution of transactions, including due diligence, financial modeling, and valuation.
- Collaborate with other practice areas within the firm, such as Due Diligence, Valuation, Tax, and Legal teams, to provide clients with a seamless experience.
- Lead negotiations and guide the preparation of transaction documentation, including purchase agreements, term sheets, and financial disclosures.
Exit Strategy Development
- Advise on and oversee the implementation of exit strategies, including IPOs, mergers, private sales, and alternative ownership structures.
- Prepare client companies for sale, ensuring readiness for due diligence, financial disclosures, and market positioning.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Mentor and lead a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative environment to drive efficiency and innovation.
- Represent the firm at industry events, networking forums, and client meetings to enhance the firm's market presence.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Experience:
- 12 years of experience in M&A, investment banking, private equity, or corporate development
- Proven track record of leading and overseeing complex M&A transactions and exit strategies.
- Expertise in financial modeling, valuation methods, and due diligence processes.
- Experience collaborating across technical disciplines (e.g., Due Diligence, Valuation, and Tax).
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide teams effectively.
