Repair Technician
About The Role
As a Repair Technician, you will play a crucial role in the testing, alignment, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic assemblies. Working under direct supervision, you will utilize schematics, logic diagrams, wiring lists, drawings, and test equipment to diagnose and address issues with electronic components.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Testing and Alignment: Perform testing and alignment procedures on electronic assemblies to ensure functionality and performance. Utilize test equipment and tools to verify proper operation and alignment according to specifications.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot issues with electronic assemblies, utilizing schematics, logic diagrams, and wiring lists to pinpoint root causes. Diagnose problems to the component level and propose solutions for repair.
- Repair and Maintenance: Conduct repairs on electronic assemblies, replacing faulty components as needed and ensuring proper functioning. Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent issues and optimize performance of electronic equipment.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of testing, alignment, troubleshooting, and repair activities, documenting findings and solutions. Provide detailed reports on repair work performed, including recommendations for improvement or further action.
- Quality Assurance: Adhere to quality standards and procedures throughout the repair process, ensuring that repaired electronic assemblies meet specifications and performance requirements. Participate in quality control checks and inspections to verify compliance with quality standards.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with team members and supervisors to coordinate repair activities and prioritize tasks. Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to report progress, discuss challenges, and seek assistance when needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in electronics or a related field preferred.
- Experience in electronic repair, testing, and troubleshooting, preferably in a manufacturing or repair environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics, logic diagrams, wiring lists, and technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of electronic components and circuitry, with the ability to diagnose and repair issues to the component level.
- Experience using electronic test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under supervision.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
