Primary Purpose
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Protection of the Company's assets to include our self-insured retention of $10 Million through the execution and management of field investigations of bodily injury, property damage and company damage incidents to include high profile cases with significant monetary exposure. Establish appropriate reserves on cases in accordance with established accounting principles. Analyze liability and evaluate financial risk to the company in high complexity injury and large property damage losses. Make presentations to Senior Management regarding investigations with high impact potential. Temporarily fill in for the Manager Claims Case Management on an as needed basis. Prepare written reports and case analysis as required. Support the loss prevention process with analytical data. Note: Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage for storms or other energy delivery emergencies.

Primary Duties
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Perform and coordinate field investigation of property damage, bodily injury, automobile accidents, environmental and company damage incidents that involve liability issues for the company. Respond to and coordinate the investigation of major incidents (gas explosions, fires, electrocutions) including significant company damage events on a 24-hour basis. Meet with customers/claimants, witnesses, etc. to obtain facts of incidents. Evaluate damages, make liability determinations, analyze losses and where warranted develop a settlement strategy and negotiate a cost effective settlement. Retain experts, lead and conduct site inspections with experts and company counsel. Coordinate and manage litigation brought against the company. (70%)
- Prepare written investigation reports, letters and other documents including discovery responses. (10%)
- Provide 24/7 on call emergency response (5%)
- Provide educational services to internal and external constituencies. (5%)
- Assist in the training of new E02 Claims Case Managers. (5%)
- Serve on root cause investigation teams to provide the Claims viewpoint in these activities. (5%)
