SUMMARY:
The Shipping Supervisor in our safety-focused manufacturing facility is responsible for leading and coordinating shipping operations. This role involves overseeing a team, implementing and enforcing safety protocols, collaborating with various departments to maintain an efficient supply chain, and ensuring the accurate and secure shipment of products to meet customer demands while maintaining a safe working environment.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of an Associates Degree or comparable work experience
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Demonstrated exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply mathematical skills and analyze performance trends in data; Demonstrated experience applying structured problem-solving and decision-making tools and methods.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to analyze financial information, identify discrepancies and provide solutions; Ability to identify problems, collect information, establish facts, and suggest solutions; Ability to develop and support conclusions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Significant time will be spent in manufacturing with key employees, exploring improvement opportunities to the overall quality and process aspects of the business. Frequent communication (verbal and listening), standing and reaching is required. Vision abilities required by this job include close-up reading and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics include periodic noise increases, although for the most part the environment is usually quiet. Safety glasses and other required protection should be worn when out in the shop area.

SAFETY LEADERSHIP:
- Champion a safety-first culture within the shipping department and across the facility.
- Conduct regular safety meetings, drills, and training sessions for the shipping team.
- Conduct regular safety checks on equipment, tools, and packaging materials to identify and address potential safety risks
- Provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement in safety measures and shipping processes.
- Lead and supervise the shipping team, emphasizing safety practices in all aspects of their work.
- Task assignments as they pertain to packaging, receiving, part kitting, filling hardware orders, inventory management, etc.
- Weekly payroll management as well as time off approvals.
- Management of Shipping personnel including disciplinary action when necessary
- Collaborate with other Production Areas
- Coordinate and prioritize daily shipping activities with a strong emphasis on maintaining a safe work environment.
- Implement and optimize shipping processes to enhance safety, efficiency, and reduce potential hazards.
- Implement and enforce quality control procedures for packaging and shipping, ensuring that safety standards are upheld.
- Implement safety measures in the loading and unloading processes to prevent injuries and accidents.
