LONG TERM SUBSITUTE - SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHERS (MARCH-JUNE)
Lincoln Street School and Main Street School in Exeter, NH are in need of a long term substitutes to provide specialized instruction for students with special education needs. This individual will also complete case management duties. The successful candidate will demonstrate familiarity with reading, writing, and math instruction for students performing below grade level. Additionally, this position will conduct progress monitoring, create IEP, present at special education team meetings, and collaborate with special education and classroom teachers to provide a meaningful learning experiences for students.

Under the direct supervision of Lincoln Street School building administration.

Position:

Essential Functions:
- Works with students individually and in small groups to provide specialized instruction as ordered in an IEP.
- Conducts assessments, testing and diagnostic examinations of students for the purpose of identifying learning issues, and recommending courses of action or corrective procedures
- Develops Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) for students.
- Assists students and teaching staff in implementing students' IEPs.
- Coordinates with administrators and other teaching staff members to ascertain individual student's abilities and needs.
- Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping.
- Ensures effective communication with students, staff, and parents.
- Accompanies students on field trips for the purpose of assisting with supervision.
- Constructs, copies and distribute and use educational materials as needed.
- Assists students with special needs to maximize inclusion, learning, achievement of IEP objectives, etc.
- Assist students with physical or mental disabilities with activities of daily living for the purpose of maximizing their ability to participate in school or learning activities.
- Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper manner of assistance for all students, including those with disabilities or other special needs.
- Maintains confidentiality of student information.
