What We’re Looking For
As Logistics Technician you will:
- Undertake all tasks associated with the receipt of equipment requiring Customer Service actions (e.g. repair and calibration) and the receipt of service center inventory.
- Receipt RMA’s and Inventory into SAP and ensure Inventory locations are maintained and up to date, all parts are numbered and easy to find.
- Arrange for the timely dispatch of demonstration equipment to customers using the EXFO shipping tool.
- Assist with customer service/new order shipping activities such as picking and processing for shipment when called upon.
- As needed provide package sizes, weights and dimensions and perform data entry transactions in SAP
- Assist with packing and unpacking of customer owned products associated with all Customer Service, Repair/Calibration units, EXFO demonstration units, new equipment orders (when required) and all general goods receipts and dispatches.
- Maintain the ‘proof of delivery’ schedule and contacting couriers by telephone to resolve any customer delivery issues. Scan POD’s and Job Cards into SAP.
- Maintain accurate logs of all deliveries.
- Prepare order forms for the shipment of EXFO products.
- Ensure all accompanying documents for carriers are properly prepared.
- Monitor and follow up on shipments to ensure timely delivery.
- Organize customs clearance for shipments.
- Coordinate logistics with carriers and customs brokers for efficient processing.
- Ensuring full adherence to the QMS and proposing improvement and development of these systems where possible.
- Complying with the Company’s Employment, Quality, Health & Safety, IT and Security policies.
What We’re Looking For
- Knowledge of customs procedures (document verification, customs compliance)
- Familiarity with international trade (Incoterms, import/export documents)
- Experience with the use of ERP (experience with SAP is an asset)
- Experience with handling of electronic equipment are desirable
- Very good computer literacy and understanding of databases, email, and spreadsheets.
- Good verbal and written reporting skills.
- Good ability to understand packing requirements and taking measurements accurately for size and weight.
- Good general fitness is required, as some controlled lifting is part of the job. The ability to understand and observe proper Health and Safety practices is essential.
- Excellent attention to detail to produce a high-rate of ‘right-first-time’ results in all work.
- Ability to learn new skills, technologies, and ideas rapidly.
- Ability to work to within deadlines and under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude at all times.
