Key responsibilities include monitoring local, state, and federal laws and regulations, collaborating with HQ HR team to stay compliant, identifying areas of improvement within the HR Function, leading new employee recruiting and onboarding process, and engaging in the development of hourly employees through training, coaching, and mentoring.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and stay up-to-date with local, state, and federal laws and regulations impacting the site.
- Collaborate with HQ HR team to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Identify areas of improvement within the HR Function and lead projects to implement new processes.
- Lead the new employee recruiting and onboarding process, including pre-screening applications, requesting background checks, preparing and processing new hire paperwork, conducting new hire orientations, and other related tasks.
- Develop and implement training programs to improve performance among plant employees.
- Facilitate 30, 60, and 90 day reviews for hourly operation employees.
- Act as backup for Human Resources Manager, exercising discretion and independent judgment in employee-related matters.
- Support employees throughout the leave of absence process.
- Maintain accurate employee records, including entries, updates, and status changes in the HRIS and timekeeping systems.
- Provide general HR information to employees based on established practices and procedures.
- Maintain attendance records for all hourly employees and issue and track attendance warnings as required.
- Cordinate and execute employee engagement events and special meetings, such as volunteer opportunities and service anniversaries.
- Attend meetings, take minutes, and prepare and post them.
- Interface directly with all levels of Management and employees.
- Coordinate with staffing agencies for placement of temporary employees as needed.
- Assist with various administrative tasks and management support as assigned.
- Support plant activities, including participating in audits, 5S, LPA's, Gemba, and Safety.
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
- 2-4 years of Human Resources experience as an administrator or general support.
- 2 years of experience in a Manufacturing Plant HR leadership position required.
