The Role:
At ExistX, interns have the opportunity to work alongside our experts and contribute to innovative projects that solve real-world problems. You'll apply your project management skills and passion for emerging technologies as part of a dynamic team focused on advancing next-generation solutions in areas like cryptography, assured autonomy, electronic warfare, communications security, and digital modeling & simulation. You'll have the opportunity to coordinate project tasks that span research interviews, requirements gathering, and timeline management.
As a key member of our research cataloging initiative, you will work closely with Software Development and Cybersecurity interns to develop a robust tool for managing and cataloging technical research. This role offers hands-on experience in project coordination while solving real-world challenges in research data management. The ideal candidate will combine strong organizational skills with the ability to understand researcher needs and translate them into clear requirements for the development team.
You'll experience the excitement of being on the ground floor of a growing company as we transition groundbreaking research into practical applications making a difference for our customers. This is a chance to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge systems and tools while working closely with software developers and cybersecurity experts in a team environment.
Join our mission-driven team of emerging talent, passionate about technology and innovation. We strongly prefer candidates local to southwest Ohio (Dayton or Cincinnati areas) who can work hybrid from our Beavercreek office several days per week or Herndon, Virginia.
Necessary Qualifications:
- Full-time student at an accredited university (all majors welcome)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills, particularly in interviewing and documentation
- Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to understand and document technical concepts
- Experience with basic project management (timelines, status updates, requirements)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools
- Self-motivated with ability to work both independently and in teams
- Basic understanding of software development concepts
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in research or academic environments
- Experience gathering and documenting requirements
- Knowledge of interviewing techniques
- Familiarity with agile project management
- Experience with technical documentation
- Active DoD Security Clearance is a plus
