Job Description- Program Manager-L&A
A Program Manager at EXL is responsible for managing and coordinating multiple projects to ensure alignment with the organization's strategic objectives.
The ideal candidate should be an experienced Life and Annuity Program Manager, capable of leading and overseeing programs related to life insurance and annuity products. This role demands a strong understanding of the life insurance and annuity industry, exceptional project and program management skills, and the ability to drive initiatives to successful completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Project/Program Planning
Develop comprehensive project/program plans for life and annuity projects, including scope, timelines, resources, and budgets.
Define objectives and deliverables while developing and maintaining project plans using work breakdown structures, product backlogs, sprint backlogs, charters, scope definitions, schedules, and resource requirements.
Define the overarching program vision, goals, and roadmap, and develop the business case to justify and gain sponsorship for the program.
Create a program management plan covering scope, schedule, resources, risks, and governance.
Determine interdependencies between projects and logically sequence workstreams.
Product Knowledge
Leverage expertise in life insurance and annuity products to guide project requirements, design, and implementation.
Resource Management
Manage cross-functional team members and subject matter experts, including defining objectives, overseeing execution, and evaluating performance.
Stakeholder Communication
Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, including internal teams, clients, and vendors.
Provide regular updates on project status and proactively address any issues.
Regulatory Compliance
Ensure all projects adhere to industry regulations, standards, and company policies.
Risk Management
Identify potential risks specific to life and annuity projects and develop mitigation strategies.
Budget Management
Monitor and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with financial goals.
Quality Assurance
Oversee the quality of project deliverables to ensure they meet industry standards and client expectations.
Documentation
Maintain detailed project documentation, including plans, reports, and change requests.
Team Leadership
Lead and motivate project teams, ensuring alignment with project goals and fostering a collaborative work environment.
Provide thought leadership and deliver business insights to identify and resolve complex issues critical to clients’ success.
Problem Solving
Address and resolve project-related issues and challenges in a timely and effective manner.
Skills and Qualifications:
Education:Must have BS degree and 10-17 years of experience managing technology projects/programs. Agile/Scrum certification and/or PMI certification preferred.
Experience:Proven experience as a Program Manager with a focus on life insurance and annuity products implementation and TPA operations. Demonstrated success in managing complex projects in the insurance industry.
Skills:Strong project/program management, leadership, and communication skills. Proficiency in project management software and tools.
Knowledge:In-depth understanding of life insurance and annuity products, industry regulations, and best practices.

Salary : $130,000 - $150,000
