In 2015 USD received the Senator Paul Simon Award for Comprehensive Internationalization, awarded by the NAFSA (Association of International Educators). For undergraduate students, there are approximately 135 academic study abroad programs offered in 44 countries and 76 cities to experience and learn about different cultures, languages and customs. The graduate and professional programs also offer extensive international opportunities for working professionals as well as full-time graduate students.Detailed Description : The International Studies Abroad Office supports all undergraduate student study abroad programs, and graduate programs in the Kroc School, the School of Nursing, and the College of Arts and Sciences. The International Studies Abroad Managers will serve as the first contact for the international study programs supporting approximately 1000 undergraduate students going abroad annually. They are responsible for providing student-centric, proactive, professional and engaged advising and coaching to support the students’ success with regards to their international experiences.Duties and Responsibilities : Program development and design for international study abroad experiences.Responsible for accurate and current study abroad transfer course evaluations.Continuous program assessment and discuss findings regarding program quality control issues and student / faculty feedback.Promotes the various programs on and off the USD campus.Provides advising across all university majors to support student goals.Collaborates with international colleagues and constituents in a globally competent, professional manner.Functions as first point of contact for budgetary issues with short-term faculty-led programs.Participates in overseas site visits and assists with overseas programs.Collaborates and coordinates with other Study Abroad Managers.Stays abreast of applicable research and news in the field of higher education.Background check : Successful completion of a pre-employment background check.Degree Verification Requirement : Persons offered employment in this position will be required to provide official education transcripts for degree verification purposes.Job Requirements : Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree required, with preference in related fields. 3 years of experience in an administrative / executive level atmosphere.A Masters degree in a related field can be substituted for one year of work experience.Interest in, and ability to travel internationally.Preferred Qualifications : Master's degree in related field is preferred.Second (or third) language ability highly desirable.Travel and international experience such as working in an International Center.Performance Expectations- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and a second language.Ability to regularly exercise independent judgment and discretion.Strong proofreading and grammar skills.Knowledge of international travel and cultural awareness / sensitivity.Excellent computer skills and comprehensive knowledge of modern office practices.Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks concurrently.Salary : $5,720-$5,750 per month; Excellent Benefits.Special Application Instructions : Resume and Cover Letter Required.Click the 'Apply Now' button to complete our online application.
