Job Summary:
Exos is looking for a dynamic, innovative, and experienced leader to manage our fitness centers at the Minnesota Jewish Community Center. We are looking for an exceptional, strategic, charismatic, and empowering manager that will establish a culture of creativity and engagement for their team members. The General Manager must be metric-driven and solution-oriented and will push their team to grow the community and engage its members. Importantly, the General Manager will work in partnership with the MNJCC leadership and program staff to collaborate, develop and expand the center's offerings and actualize the key financial objectives of the agency.
As our new General Manager, you will:
- Be the face of Health, Fitness and Membership for the Minnesota JCC and the community.
- Drive all aspects of the membership business – member experience, acquisition, retention, usage, and engagement.
- Lead and mentor the Sales Specialists from both sites.
- Prioritize innovation and new program development to enhance the member experience opening new revenue streams and supporting member growth.
- Generate new ideas and create a culture of collaboration and manifestation.
- Ensure that all EXOS team members embrace the technology at the site and use it efficiently.
- Work collectively with the JCC Marketing team to drive the marketing efforts for membership and fitness. Inform marketing strategy based on competitive analysis and industry knowledge.
- Execute on work plans, action plans, and all tasks in a timely manner.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with EXOS and JCC staff.
- Capture and share all information on current membership models, fitness industry trends, and JCC specific best practices.
- Support P/L influence and control. Develop budget, contingency, and strategic plans for all departments within Health, Fitness, and Membership.
- Lead and mentor the Assistant General Managers of both sites
- Support the hiring, supervising, mentoring and evaluation of department managers.
- Understand and be committed to the mission and vision of the Center. Be knowledgeable about the center and all its programs. Identify opportunities for cross-selling services throughout the Center.
- Monitor progress and planning on a monthly basis versus goals and objectives.
- Exemplify experience with identifying and using actionable data to make decisions and track results.
- Other duties as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years of General Manager Experience within the fitness industry, including overseeing Membership.
- Effective team management and coaching skills.
- Strong service background and a focus on creating an exceptional Member Experience.
- Experience in building corporate partnerships, sponsorships, and memberships.
- Proven track record of launching new initiatives and exceeding revenue goals.
- Bachelor’s Degree in fitness or business-related fields.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated success in increasing programming participation in both for profit and not for profit environments.
- Successful track record managing sales, personal/small group training, operations, group programming and customer service.
- Experience working at the Jewish Community Center.
- Excellent communication-both written and oral, leadership, interpersonal and supervisory skills.
- Ability to anticipate, manage, and solve operational issues on a regular, and daily, basis.
- Highly skilled in Google Docs, Excel, as well as proven ability to work with different CRM systems (i.e., CSI, Spectrum), Salesforce preferred.
Per pay transparency requirements, the compensation for this position ranges from $70,000/year to $103,000/year. Minimum rates may vary based on local wage laws. Pay is dependent on factors including site location, specialty, certifications and work experience as well as other business needs. Exos offers a comprehensive benefits package for all full time employees (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements), which includes health insurance, life and disability benefits, 401(k) plan, and paid time off. Additionally, Exos offers a variety of part time benefits (subject to eligibility requirements).
