Job Summary
ExoTerra is microsatellite company specializing in solar electric propulsion systems and space exploration satellites. The company develops Hall Thrusters, propulsion modules, microsatellites and launch vehicle upper stages. We have been awarded multiple propulsion module and satellite contracts and are in need of a self-motivated Production Planner to take our production team to the next level. The Production Planner is responsible for scheduling the usage of production materials to ensure optimal levels. The Planner must evaluate suppliers or quality timeliness and match according to goals. They also monitor material supply flow and identify any shortages or bottlenecks in usage that may arise.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Create Production plan flow with schedulers and production teams
- Create Manufacturing Orders and work flow for the production teams
- Work closely with production teams to schedule floor activities in Assembly, Integration and Testing phases. Coordinate with PM and teams to deconflict scheduling issues.
- Participates in forecasting meetings with Operations, Customers Service, Finance, Shipping, and Purchasing.
- Serves as a key link between all functions of the business as they support the manufacturing process of conforming product.
- Coordinate inventory logistics and forecasts with procurement to facilitate orders to meet production deadlines.
- Work with design engineering to work thru the BOM and release dates to start procurement.
- Assist in vendor development to create a pool of approved vendors to work with to decrease single source backlogs.
- Work with vendors for parts quoting and work to improve on costs when possible, to improve budgets.
- Maintains positive and productive working relationships with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
- Support KPIs pertaining to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost are being met on the production floor and adjust plan as needed to achieve targets.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- 3 years of relevant planning and manufacturing experience.
- ERP system experience with Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP).
- Costpoint Experience preferred
- Great leadership attributes and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication, both written and orally, and attention to detail.
- Ability to quickly react to changes in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office 365 suite.
- Must be eligible to work in the US
Desired Skills
- Have experience using an ERP/MRP system and Microsoft Office to plan and manage existing and future projects, ensuring efficiency across multiple departments
- Have experience coordinating a production workflow and staffing needs with a production team to ensure accurate staffing needs for multiple projects
- Have experience with daily monitoring of production progress - identifying any potential risks and providing solutions to avoid any production gaps and slips
- Have experience coordinating with multiple teams to update project deliverables with information related to multiple teams
- Have experience working quickly to mitigate any issues, communicating effectively with production and warehouse teams
Schedule
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Full time
- Some overtime or weekends may be needed

Salary: $60,000.00 to $130,000.00 /year
(Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
