Company Background
ExoTerra is an industry leader in the development and production of electric propulsion systems for small and micro satellites. The company provides propulsion solutions for space exploration, defense and commercial programs. We are in need of a Senior Test Technician to perform acceptance and qualification testing of space hardware and to serve as the Lead Test Technician.
Responsibilities:
The Lead Test Technician will be responsible for:
- Performing Development, Qualification and Acceptance testing of space hardware. Tests include but are not limited to: functional, leak, proof pressure, burn-in, thermal cycle, thermal vacuum, EMI/EMC, random vibration and shock.
- Supervise work, ensure quality standards are met, and provide mentorship/training where needed to the other test technicians;
- Coordinate with Lead Technician and planners to allocate resources to meet deadlines;
- Coordinate with planners to status accomplishments;
- Provide feedback to engineering on process improvements;
- Clear roadblocks for team to meet deadlines
Qualifications
- >10 years of experience testing hardware
- Experience managing a small team
- High School Diploma
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Able to plan tasks, assign resources, monitor progress and troubleshoot problems
- Able to follow verbal and written instructions
- Able to lift 50 lbs
- Able to climb a 13' ladder
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be a US Citizen
Desired Skills
- Experience with soldering, crimping and harness build
- Experience with mechanical assembly
- Experience with electronics board repair & testing
- Experience with welding
- Experience with Visio, Excel, Smartsheets, MS Project, and/or CAD Drawing software
- Experience with functional, random vibration, proof pressure, and/or thermal vacuum testing
- Experience with non-conformance resolution
- Experience with vacuum chambers
- Good time management skills
