Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Immigration Paralegal to join our legal team. The Immigration Paralegal will play a crucial role in assisting clients through the complexities of the immigration process.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with the preparation and filing of immigration petitions and applications.
- Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and client needs.
- Draft, review, and transcribe legal documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
- Manage case files using legal case management software, maintaining organized records for each client.
- Utilize Lexis-Nexis for research purposes to gather relevant case law and statutes.
- Provide executive administrative support, including scheduling appointments and managing attorney calendars.
- Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary information and provide updates on case status.
- Collaborate with team members to streamline processes and improve efficiency within the office.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification preferred; relevant experience in immigration law is highly desirable.
- Proficient in legal research methods and tools, including Lexis-Nexis.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to draft clear and concise legal documents.
- Experience in executive administrative support or similar roles within a legal environment.
- Familiarity with patent law or estate planning is a plus but not required.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
